Aaron Seton has demoralised the Trans Am field on the Adelaide streets, recording a stunning Race 2 victory at the Superloop Adelaide 500.

The 21-year-old, a champion of the class in its past guise, was simply supreme, winning the nine lap race by six seconds, adding to his pole position and Race 1 victory.

Brett Holdsworth continued his impressive run, finishing second again and will start alongside Seton in the final race.

But look for Nathan Herne to offer Seton and Holdsworth a challenge in tomorrow's final race. The young star endured a driveshaft issue in yesterday's race, forcing him to start from 18th on the grid. The Gulf Western Oils-backed driver ripped through the pack to claim third place, setting up a tasty battle for tomorrow's final.

Nic Carroll finished an impressive fourth in his Trans Am debut event. Starting from fifth, he made a great start to beat both of the Kubota Mustangs into the first turn, and held that position until the unrelenting Herne soldered his way past.

There were some other impressive drivers, including Jimmy Vernon, whos tarted ninth and finished fifth, Cameron Crick who started 17th to claim sixth, and Craig Dontas who got his first race laps for the weekend after his qualifying incident. He started 20th and last to finish an encouraging 9th.

After an incident packed Race 1, today's event was a relatively clean affair, other than minor spins for Steve McLaughlin (Mustang) and Shaun Richardson (Dodge).

The final Trans Am race for the weekend will be held at 9:30am local time tomorrow.

Nathan Heren was the star of the show around the streets of Adelaide.
QUOTES

Aaron Seton
#1 Ford Mustang

“I really enjoyed the racing here and I can't thank the team enough," said Seton.

"The team has given me a great car. It's been on rails and they deserve the full credit.

"It's been a blast so far, so we'll try and come away with a clean race and enjoy it."

Nathan Herne
#28 Chevrolet Camaro

“Last year we lost the championship with mechanical failures, so to have an issue yesterday was very disappointing," said Herne.

"To come back from 18th to third was awesome. It's good to know that the pace is there and hopefully in the last race tomorrow morning, we can take the fight to him."
