 3Dimensional.com Driver’s Spotlight: Paul Fix

Dominating the TA lap charts and podium, Fix is putting an exclamation mark on the conclusion of the 2014 season

As the 2014 Trans Am Championship comes to a close, Paul Fix and the No. 4 StopFlex.com/ Tony Ave Racing Chevrolet Corvette enter the season finale at Daytona International Speedway in great form—having dominated the last two rounds of competition at Virginia International Raceway and Lime Rock Park. These stand as Fix’s only appearances on the year as he prepares for a full season of competition in 2015, but in these appearances he’s taken the TA field by storm.

At Lime Rock Park, Fix led every session, qualified on pole and led every lap of the race en route to victory. At Virginia International Raceway, he replicated the feat, topping the podium once more under the Tony Ave Racing banner. Two races, six sessions, all led by the No. 4—impressive given he had to outperform Champion Doug Peterson, current runner-up Simon Gregg and Amy Ruman in the process.

For Fix it’s been a glorious return to Trans Am, a series where he made his debut in 2000. Since then he’s made 37 appearances in America’s Road Racing Series, with three victories, six top 5 placements and 17 top 10 finishes.

Fix will look to add to those numbers this coming weekend at Daytona, and potentially a year-end trifecta with another victory on Saturday, November 15.

Either way, Fix’s talent behind the wheel has been more than showcased; as this season comes to a close, fans can look forward to seeing his ability on display one more time.
