Adam Andretti and Burtin Racing Take on VIR with Championship in Sights
September 19, 2025
Alton, VIRGINIA – September 19, 2025 – The Burtin Racing team returns to the legendary Virginia International Raceway (VIR) this weekend, September 21, for Round 9 of the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, with Adam Andretti spearheading the team in the prestigious TA class. The race comes at a vital stage in the championship chase, with Andretti entering the weekend second in the Drivers’ Championship with 839 points and looking to build on an already impressive season campaign.
Adam has shown remarkable consistency throughout the 2025 season, scoring six runner-up finishes to date at Sebring, Road Atlanta, the WeatherTech Raceway at Laguna Seca, Lime Rock Park, Watkins Glen and most recently at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Now, as the Series enters the decisive closing stretch, VIR offers the opportunity for the driver of the No.17 TOP LINER / Service Partners Chevrolet Camaro to convert his momentum into a push for the top of the standings.
“VIR is one of the purest driver’s tracks in North America,” said Andretti. “It demands precision, discipline, and a willingness to push your limits. Our Burtin Racing team has been working tirelessly to deliver a car that can perform at the highest level, and I’m ready to put it all on the line. Being second in the championship, with six podiums already this year, gives us the motivation to fight for more. Having the support of TOP LINER and knowing that fans are engaging with the Top Driver Challenge gives us even more energy heading into this race weekend.”
Virginia International Raceway (VIR), in Alton, Virginia, is a 3.27-mile road course opened in 1957, closed in 1974, and revived in 2000 under a country club model. The track is a favorite among drivers for its high-speed challenges and sweeping elevation changes. Hosting IMSA, Trans-Am, MotoAmerica, and club events, VIR features multiple configurations, iconic sections like “Oak Tree” and “Climbing Esses,” and is renowned for its technical challenges and historic racing heritage. Lawrence Loshak scored a notable win for Burtin Racing at VIR in the TA Class in 2018.
