Harmon Delivers Career-Best Finish in SHR’s Home Track

HIGH POINT, NC (September 22, 2025) – Silver Hare Racing’s homecoming weekend at VIRginia International Raceway delivered both heartbreak and triumph, as the team rallied from tragedy to celebrate rookie Noah Harmon’s first career podium in the Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series.

Harmon, driver of the No. 7 Cube3/Streetside Classics/HOWE Enterprises Racing Chevrolet, came out strong in Thursday’s test sessions, posting fourth- and second-fastest laps to set the tone for the weekend. But that night, the Silver Hare family was hit by the unexpected passing of co-transport driver Mark “Rocket” Metcalfe.

On Friday, Harmon delivered in qualifying, securing fourth on the grid—matching his season-best starting spot from Lime Rock Park in May. Come race day, the 19-year-old rose to the occasion, running in lockstep with frontrunners Carson Brown, Tristan McKee, and Ben Maier.

When points leader McKee encountered transmission trouble, Harmon moved into third. After multiple restarts, he held off Nitro Motorsports’ Sam Corry with superior long-run pace. The defining moment came late in the race when Brown and Maier battled hard and made contact, sending Maier spinning back onto the track. Harmon narrowly avoided the incident, moved into second, and closed on Brown in the final laps before ultimately crossing the line a career-best second.

“Just super excited for our entire team,” Harmon said post-race. “It’s been a tough few weeks for these Silver Hare boys, but they brought me a fast No. 7 Cube3/Streetside Classics Chevrolet. To get my first podium here at VIR, our home track, means the world. We lost a member of our team this week in ‘Rocket,’ and this one’s for him. We love you, Rocket, and we will miss you.”

Crew chief Jeff Cessna praised Harmon’s poise and growth under pressure.
“Noah’s been building toward this moment all season,” Cessna said. “To come here, stay focused through everything we’ve been dealing with as a team, and deliver a podium at VIR—that’s huge. He was smart, patient, and showed the kind of maturity it takes to be a contender in this series. We’re all very proud.”

Round 9 of the 2025 Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series heads to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, October 17-19. The race will be broadcast live on SpeedSport 1 and the Trans Am Series YouTube channel at 2:30 p.m. ET.
