COPE Continues to Lead Chassis Count in Racing America’s Trans Am's CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series

Cope Race Cars, Cope Chassis will make up over 50% of the Trans Am CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series field at the season opener in Sebring

Sebring, FL (February 16, 2026)— COPE Race Cars and its COPE Chassis made its official debut as an approved chassis builder to the Trans Am presented by Pirelli CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series in 2012; however, did you know that Mike Cope Racing had a COPE Chassis at the first ever Trans Am TA2 race at Road Atlanta in 2010? Since then, the popularity of the chassis has consistently grown from a hand full of cars in the field to where we are today. COPE Race Cars opens the TA2 season at Sebring with 17 cars in the 33-car field. Making 2026 the third year in a row that COPE has led the way for chassis count at Sebring.

“Over the past 16 years COPE Race Cars and Trans Am have grown together,” explains Mike Cope, Owner/ CEO of Mike Cope Racing and COPE Race Cars. “Our customers are the main reason for this growth. I personally can’t take any credit. The credit goes to my family and team in the shop. They are the innovators that make COPE Race Cars a success. It’s all about the people and our people are passionate about what they do.”

In the beginning, you could only find COPE Race Cars under the Mike Cope Racing tent, but over the years the popularity has spread across the paddock. Notably, our largest support comes from Nick Tucker and the Nitro Motorsports team. Nitro brings 7 COPE TA2 cars to Sebring in 2026.

Stanton Barrett Motorsports will make their TA2 season debut and will field a three-car team with Stanton Barrett, newcomer Graham Jacobson, and TA2 champion Rafa Matos.

Troy Benner and TRB Autosport will support Matt Gray in the #64 Ryan Companies/ COPE Chassis Ford Mustang. TRB has supported COPE Race Cars over the years with the purchase of several COPE Chassis.

Mike Cope Racing is available at all TA2 events for trackside support. As a COPE chassis owner, you are part of the family with unlimited access to knowledge, assistance, and support during race weekends. We have an open book policy at MCR and want our chassis owners to be able to come to us at any time to ensure that they see the true value in their COPE experience.

We are in this business to build champions and have a lot of fun along the way.

The season opener for the Racing America Trans Am presented by Pirelli CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 series is February 26th to March 1st at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, FL. Practice and Qualifying are set for Saturday, February 28th with the main event on Sunday, March 1st at 1:30pm EST.
