ARCHER BROTHERS TEAM COMES FROM THE BACK TO FINISH 8TH AND 15TH AT COTA
November 9, 2015
Austin, TX – Tommy Archer took a gamble during last chance qualifying resulting in a starting position near the back of the field but that didn’t deter him from precisely moving up through the pack at yesterday’s Trans Am TA2 race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. Archer Brothers team drivers Tommy Archer and Ron Keith started in the 25th and 28th positions respectfully, after having their own separate issues during the qualifying session. The originally scheduled 30 laps or 70 minute race became a timed race after 3 lengthy caution flags, which allowed the drivers to complete only 24 total laps. When the checkered flag flew, Tommy had passed over 17 cars and drove his c3controls Chevrolet Camaro to a solid 8th place finish. Ron Keith raced a similar and aggressive race working his way through the pack in his OffSite Image Management Red Dragon to finish 15th.
The Archer Brothers team continued to prove their never quit approach in everything they do by working through the challenging circumstances throughout the weekend. The Trans Am series recognized their hard work and presented Ron Keith, crew chief Rick Beebe and the entire Archer Brothers team the Pitboxes.com Pitcrew Performance Award for their perseverance throughout the weekend. “I can’t thank the Archer Brothers crew enough for their hard work getting the car in a place where we can pass as many cars as we did. The work they did getting Ron’s car back on the track after the earlier issues is remarkable,” explains Tommy. “We are carrying good momentum into Daytona and I’m ready to race and end the year on a high note.”
The Archer Brothers team is already on their way to the final race of the 2015 season located at the well-known Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, FL. The race weekend activities start on Wednesday, November 11th with the 29 laps or 75 minute race on Saturday, November 14th at 10:30am.
