Australian Racer Jack Perkins to Join Nitro Motorsports for Trans Am Western Championship

July 24, 2025 - Nitro Motorsports is pleased to announce that accomplished Australian Supercars racer, Jack Perkins, will make his debut with the team at this weekend’s Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli Western Championship event at Portland International Raceway (PIR). 

Perkins will pilot the #19 Shaw and Partners Financial Services Toyota Camry, having been introduced to Nitro Motorsports courtesy of Joe Gibbs Racing, with whom he made a strong NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in Chicago recently. 

“Trans Am racing is something I’ve watched from afar for years, and it’s great to get a chance to compete in this series finally,” Perkins said. 

“Portland International Raceway looks like a fantastic track with plenty of opportunities for challenging racing.” 

“Nitro Motorsports has been very welcoming, and I am grateful for the opportunity the team has given me. They’ve won in multiple racing disciplines in 2025, and if I put my head down, work hard, and catch on quickly, I hope I can add to their impressive record.” 

Nitro Motorsports owner Nick Tucker said Perkins brings a wealth of international experience to the competitive Trans Am grid, presenting a strong opportunity for his team. 

“Jack’s experience at the top levels of racing, including Supercars in Australia, will bring valuable insights and raise the bar for our entire team,” Tucker said. 

“We’re looking forward to working with him and seeing what he can do at Portland, and from there, we will see what the future holds.”

The Portland event adds another chapter to Nitro Motorsports’ busy 2025 campaign, as the team continues to compete across multiple disciplines and championships, providing opportunities to drivers from around the world while winning every step of the way.
