Hard Fought Top 10 Finish for Burtin Racing in New Jersey

Millville, NJ - June 14, 2016 - The Trans Am Series action heated up this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park for Round 4 of the season championship. Always a competitive field, Burtin Racing and the No. 7 GoShare Corvette C7.R qualified in the eighth starting position for the Hank Sauce "Weekend of Thunder" race presented by MPT Industries.

Heading into the event Team Burtin has displayed a strong start to the season with a splendid podium finish at Sebring International Raceway and a top five result at Watkins Glen International. The GoShare Corvette has been ultra consistent, gaining momentum as the championship progresses.

The No. 7 GoShare Corvette C7.R took to the grid under a scorching hot Garden State sun with outside temperatures reaching over 90 degrees on race day. It was a quick paced start to the race as Burtin made gains, chasing down the front of the pack. On lap 28 the team was forced to make a pit stop due to a tire puncture but recovered quickly and with a trademark display of grit, endurance and skill. The No. 7 GoShare Corvette was able to clinch a remarkable eighth place finishing position.

"We had a puncture during the race and the crew was able to make an incredibly fast tire change to the GoShare Corvette and we got back out on track in time to stay up in the top 10," stated Claudio Burtin, team owner and driver. "It was good racing this weekend and we are soldiering on remaining top five in the points standings leaving New Jersey."

The Trans Am Series will return to the track for Round 5 of the 2016 Trans Am Championship at Brainerd International Raceway on July 2-3.
