Jordan Bupp Returns!
Davie, Fla. – Jordan Bupp will return to The Trans Am presented by Pirelli’s TA2 category at this weekend’s Music City Grand Prix in Nashville, Tenn. The second-generation and race-winning Trans Am driver will be behind the wheel of the No. 83 Averitt Express, Nacarato Truck Centers, Stevens-Miller Racing (SMR), Camaro.
Bupp said, “We’re looking forward to getting back to action in TA2! I absolutely loved racing in Detroit. Street circuits really suit my driving style. With the help of my dad, my wife, and my entire family, we were able to put together this effort. Teaming up with Joe Stevens and SMR is a perfect fit as I have a lot of time in a Howe Racing Enterprises chassis. Joe and the team have always treated me like family, and it was great to work with them at Road America and get some seat time prior to Nashville.
“The announcement that our race will be broadcast on CBS Sports this Saturday at 8pm EST, is a tremendous and unexpected bonus for my sponsors. With the expectation of a huge crowd and now the TV package, this is going to be so cool – my family and I are thrilled to be a part of it.”
Averitt Express is a Nashville-based, award-winning national carrier and is using the Music City Grand Prix as part of their 50th anniversary celebration.
Owner Gary Sasser said, “Being a part of one of the biggest events in Nashville sports history is great way for us to highlight our 50th anniversary. The opportunity to team up with past Trans Am race winner Jordan Bupp and the championship-winning team of Stevens-Miller Racing was something we couldn’t pass up. The event will be huge. The entire city is gearing up for it and we can’t wait to be a part of the first-ever Music City Grand Prix. Our motto is ‘The Power of One’ and nothing could illustrate that better than motorsport where the commitment of every individual on the team is critical – just as it is for us at Averitt.”
Nacarato Truck Centers will be the secondary sponsor for Bupp in his return to action. Founded in Nashville 44 years ago, the company has expanded to 11 locations serving Tennessee, Virginia, Southern Kentucky, Maryland, Illinois, and Georgia. Nacarato Truck Centers are authorized Volvo Truck and Tico Terminal Tractor dealerships featuring sales, service and used equipment sales.
Company president Mike Nacarato said, “Three generations of our family have kept this dream alive and continue to steer this company to where we are today. Being a part of The Music City Grand Prix and supporting the winning combination of Jordan Bupp and Stevens-Miller Racing is just amazing for us. The announcement of the CBS coverage is huge and something we did not expect. This is going to be fantastic for our company and Nashville, and we could not be prouder to be a part of it.”
Bupp added, “I’m so grateful for this opportunity. I must thank Gary Sasser, Mike Nacarato and their companies for their support as well as my family. I must also thank Liqui Moly, Berryman Products and Detroit Graphics for their support of my return with SMR. This is shaping up to be the biggest Trans Am race in history and I’m thrilled to be driving for Joe Stevens and the Stevens-Miller team.
“Nashville – and the first-ever Music City Grand Prix. Let’s do this!”
