LisaKay Foyle announced as new Director of Operations for the Trans Am Series

The Trans Am Race Company has announced that LisaKay Foyle will be assuming the position of Director of Operations for the Trans Am Series, effective immediately.

“In LisaKay we have found an individual capable of taking Trans Am to the next level,”  said John Clagett, President of the Trans Am Race Company.  “As Trans Am has continued to grow, the demand and level of professionalism required to manage a Series of this magnitude also requires a special talent; and we’re confident that LisaKay is that talent.”
LisaKay Foyle has a plethora of experience in the racing industry, previously working as Series Manager for the Panoz Racing Series, a Driver Representative in ALMS, a Team Manager for Ranger Sports Racing, Event Manager for NARRA and Series Director for the Aston Martin GT4 Series.  Foyle also has experience managing the pits for multiple series, including Formula 1 and MotoGP and holds a national timing and scoring license.    Before race management, she was a banker for 23 years; retiring from that line of business as a VP/Branch Manager.
“As we went through this process, it was LisaKay’s experience that truly stood out,” said Clagett.  “We’re not going to be able to throw anything at her that she has not seen before.  At the same time, LisaKay brings with her the ability to look at our operations from a fresh and new perspective; the entire ownership group is excited to see the impact she will make immediately and in the future.”
“I see Trans Am as the Series that was, and the Series that will be,” said Foyle.  “To me, that’s a huge interest.  It’s a challenge; yet at the same time competitors are extremely friendly, committed and want to build the Series to its glory days and beyond.  I want to be part of that. Most of my other work was making new series and bringing series from the red to the black.  This case is very different.  Trans Am is already, currently, a success.  It’s now building on that success.”
“That includes focusing on competitors who are already here, keeping them happy and making sure we’re doing things to the best of our ability to make things as enjoyable and professional as possible.  Then we’re going to need to reach out to other competitors racing in other places across the country.  And the message is this: why don’t you come and try?  Because, I know, if they try Trans Am, they’ll come and stay.”
“On the competition side, I’ll be the main source of information for the competitors.  I’ll be the friendly face, the helpful person.  I want to help our competitors have the best experience possible in Trans Am.  I’m their service representative; a direct line of communication.  All they have to do is pick up the phone and call me, and I’ll have an answer.”
Foyle has been enjoying some time off, but now sees Trans Am as a great opportunity to continue her work and spend time with her husband, Trans Am Series Chief Steward, James Foyle.
“I took a bit of time off when I left my last position and I was approached a couple times.  But I wanted to wait for the right opportunity.  James and I have been married for about a year now, and I didn’t want to be gone all the time.  You don’t marry someone to leave them; but when this opportunity came along, I knew it was right.  Now we are able to enjoy our new life together, and we can work together to make the Series grow.”
As Director of Operations, LisaKay Foyle replaces former Trans Am Director of Competition, Tom VanCamp, who had served in that role since the beginning of the 2012 Season.
“The Trans Am Race Company would like to formally thank Tom VanCamp for his hard work and years of service in the Trans Am paddock,” said Clagett.  “ This was simply one of those cases where Trans Am felt that a change in direction was needed for the Series.  It was by no means an easy decision, and we wish Tom all the best in his future endeavors.”
