Mike Cope Racing Ready for Season Opener at Sebring

Sebring, FL (February 23, 2023)— Mike Cope Racing is ready to get the 2023 season started on a high note. Coming off a fairy tale ending to 2022, MCR and Cope Race Cars is excited to see what the Trans Am presented by Pirelli Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers TA2 season has in store. With six cars under the MCR banner and Cope Chassis’ making up over 40% of the field, the TA2 season opener at Sebring Raceway is the largest showing for Cope Race Cars and its Cope Chassis.

Mike Cope Racing has a loaded tent for the entire 2023 season and the Sebring opener is no different. Defending series champion Thomas Merrill will pilot the #26 Cope Race Cars house car. Merrill will carry the Bennett Transportation & Logistics, a division of the Bennett Family of Companies, as well as Bridgehaul, LLC and long-time sponsorship partner, HP Tuners, on the familiar #26.

Keith Prociuk will strap into his #9 HP Tuners Ford Mustang for the 10th season of TA2 racing with MCR. Prociuk’s support of the MCR Arrive and Drive efforts is in a field of its own. Partnerships that turn friendships is what keeps us doing what we love to do.

Matt Parent has plans to strap into his #14 Venture Contracting Group Ford Mustang for the majority of the 2023 season. With a new livery to debut at Sebring, Parent is ready to get his hot rod comfortable in the Top 10.

The #22 Ty J. Young Wealth Management Ford Mustang rejoins that team for the second season. Ty Young has shown improvement after improvement since his first TA2 start in 2020. Off season test sessions have proven nothing but beneficial and Young has a goal to complete every lap, keep the nose clean and park the #22 in the top 10.

The newest and youngest addition to the MCR banner is multi-time kart champion, Parker Delong. Delong has proven himself in the world of karting and is looking to make moves in the Trans Am TA2 series. The 14-year-old driver will be one of the youngest drivers in the field as he straps in for round 1 at Sebring.

The #16 of Jim Gallaugher will be missing the season opener but will return for Round 2 at NOLA. Gallaugher will be debuting the Regulator by Waypoint livery which was first showcased at the PRI show in Indianapolis in December.

The season opener for the Trans Am presented by Pirelli Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers TA2 series is February 24rd and 25th at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, FL.
