News Flash: Matos Victorious at VIR

Rafa Matos unofficially clinched his second TA2® title with a victory at Virginia International Raceway, beating Thomas Skeen and 2020 champion Mike Skeen.

Connor Zilisch led the opening four laps from the pole, but the 15-year-old Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli debutant began slipping back with a burnt spark plug wire. He made several pit stops and a trip to the paddock before eventually finishing 22^nd.
