Pinnacle Autosports set for Trans Am return

Gregg Rodgers and Pinnacle Autosports return to the Trans Am Road Racing Series with a brand new four car team for The 3-Dimensional Services Next Dimension 100 at Mid Ohio Sportscar Course.

Pinnacle will field four entries in the highly competitive TA2 class. Two drivers are series and class veterans and two or rookie racers in their series debut. All four will be driving Pinnacle prepared Chevy Camaros. The Decatur, TX based racing operation returns with the idea of running full time in 2015 with the possibility of further expansion.

Scott Ferguson returns to the series after running a full season in 2013. He finished 8th in Championship points with two best finishes in four position. Getting a new car put together and ready to race took a little longer than planned, but Ferguson is coming off of a solid testing session at Eagle Canyon Raceway.

Ferguson returns to the racetrack with continued primary support from Make A Wish Foundation on the #63 Camaro.

The two new drivers are father and son duo Joe and Justin Napoleon. Joe has raced everything from motocross to stock cars while his son Justin is an SCCA National level club racer. Joe in the #91 and Justin in the #90 are both sponsored by Turnkey Industries of Magnolia, TX. https://www.tkind.com/

The forth car will be the #33 Pinnacle Camaro driven by team owner Gregg Rodgers. Last season Rodgers finished 3rd in TA2 championship points—finishing on the podium 4 times including two 2nd place finishes. All four of the podium finishes came in the final four races of the season as he pushed his way onto the championship podium.

The finish to the 2013 season for Rodgers set his team up for great growth and it did, only that growth came so fast and in so many ways the team was forced to hold off on continuing its Trans Am Series competition. "We build and provide track support for many local and regional racers that run with different groups including SCCA and Vintage. Between getting Scott's new car together and keeping up with our customer growth there was a lot of work on our plate,” said Rodgers. "We want to do things right and now we have three brand new Pinnacle Camaros and we are ready to go."

For the new drivers Mid-Ohio will be a real eye opener. The entry list may be the largest Trans Am field in decades with up to 60 cars on the grid. See GoTransAm.com for time and scoring and results. The race will be televised on MAVTV available nationwide on Directv.
