Sheehan Gains Well-Deserved Pro-Am TA2 Win at Barber Motorsports Park

Birmingham, ALABAMA – October 21, 2025 - Tom Sheehan delivered a superb performance at Barber Motorsports Park, guiding the striking orange No. 97 LTK Insulation Technologies / Vixen Motorcycle Mike Cope Ford Mustang to a commanding victory in the Pro Am Challenge. Starting from P4 in class and P16 overall, Sheehan’s smooth, calculated drive saw him carve through the field with precision and consistency, ultimately taking the top step and an impressive P9 overall. His best lap of the day, a rapid 1:29.614, underscored the pace and poise behind one of his finest performances of the 2025 Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli season.
Tom made rapid progress through the early part of the race after recovering from rough contact on Lap 1 in Turn 5. He took the lead in the Pro Am class from Jim Gallaugher with 34 laps remaining and never looked like relinquishing it. For Sheehan, the result was a long-awaited return to form and a richly deserved reward after months of perseverance.
“We were pacing with Boris Said who was running strong and it was a good spot to be running through navigating traffic with him in front of us,” Tom Sheehan stated after the race. “I was fortunate to have great spotting by Matt Romanowski as we managed pace and traffic to bring it home for the win. Great day for Mike Cope Racing.”
“It's been a tough season this year, big drought, and it feels really good to come home with a win here at Barber,” said Sheehan after climbing from the car in the Alabama sunshine. “We've run good a bunch of times and it's just not worked out, but it worked out today. I want to thank Vixen Motorsports and LTK Insulation Technologies. I couldn't do it without those folks. Thank you very much. This win is for you guys and it means a lot, so thank you.”
Track reporter Ben Cissell praised both the performance and presentation of the No. 97 machine, noting how “the car looks amazing” in its stunning orange livery as it powered faultlessly through the demanding 2.38-mile circuit.
The victory at Barber marks a high point in what has been a season of resilience and determination for Sheehan and the Mike Cope Race Cars / Damon Racing crew. After several close calls earlier in the season, the team’s dedication and hard work paid off in spectacular fashion, reaffirming their place among the front-running contenders in the ultra-competitive Pro Am ranks.
