Lexington, OHIO – June 13, 2023 – Following a competitive Detroit Grand Prix doubleheader weekend for Tom Sheehan and his No. 97 LTK Insulation Technologies Damon Racing Ford Mustang team, the Ironman racer and crew prepare for Round 7 of the 2023 Big Machine Spiked Coolers TA2 season at the renowned Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday, June 25.

The New Hampshire driver and his hardy crew tallied 109 points from the Detroit doubleheader including a season best finish of P7 in Round 6. As quickly as this season started at Sebring in late February, Tom continues to focus on competitive results. with Mid-Ohio marking the midway point of a 13-race campaign. The No. 97 LTK machine moves up to P19 in the championship standings, Tom is only 38 points away from a Top 15 points standings position, an attainable goal for the Granite State native.

Heading into the 3-Dimensional Services Group Classic at the 13-turn, 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Tom has been meticulous and gritty in his 11 prior starts with five Top 10 results. Notably, his best finish at the FIA Grade 2 road course is seventh in 2020.

With the action picking up and competition getting closer on the track, Tom and his team have one approach in mind from the start of Mid-Ohio race weekend: pursuing maximum results from start to finish, expectations that mechanical insulation business owners can appreciate with an LTK Pro-Fit Jacket.

Mid-Ohio offers a bit of everything to drivers like Tom and the TA2 field with 13 corners varying in speed and elevation. Likewise, it is described as a technical road course in terms of hitting those pivotal marks and driving swiftly through “The Esses” in Turns 6 through 8 before approaching Turn 9. From there, Thunder Valley offers a potential passing opportunity before rounding over to Turns 10 and 11, where the infamous Carousel awaits in Turns 12 and 13.

The Mid-Ohio Sports Car course race weekend starts off with a 45-minute optional test session on Friday, June 23 followed by a 25-minute practice session and group qualifying sessions on Saturday, June 24. Then, Tom and the TA2 field battle on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course with a 45-lap or 70-minute battle with the 3-Dimensional Services Group Classic on Sunday, June 25 at 10:55 a.m. ET.

This year, Trans Am races are available for live streaming on Trans Am and SpeedTour’s YouTube channels with full playbacks immediately available after the race. Also, the races can be seen in edited, 60-minute features broadcasted on MAVTV’s Thursday night primetime slot at 8 p.m. ET.
