Tovo Brothers Deliver Strong Top-Ten Performances at Road Atlanta in TA2 Competition
March 18, 2026
Jackson and Ethan Tovo delivered an impressive performance this past weekend during the second round of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli at Road Atlanta, competing with Nitro Motorsports and both securing top-ten finishes in the highly competitive TA2 class. Leaving Road Atlanta, Ethan sits second in the overall points championship and leads Rookie of the Year honors.
The twin brothers, with support from IMC, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Nitro Motorsports, continued their development in the series on the challenging 2.54-mile road course, showing strong pace throughout the weekend. In qualifying, Ethan Tovo led the family effort by securing the 11th starting position, while Jackson Tovo lined up 15th in class for the feature race.
When the green flag dropped, both drivers immediately began working their way forward through the field. Ethan showcased consistent pace and racecraft throughout the event, battling inside the top-ten before ultimately finishing fifth to score a strong result for the team. Jackson also put together a determined drive, steadily advancing positions during the race to secure a solid tenth-place finish.
“It was a really strong weekend for us overall,” explained Ethan Tovo. “The Nitro Motorsports car had great pace in the race, and we were able to fight forward from where we started. Finishing fifth in such a competitive field feels great, and it gives us a lot of confidence moving forward this season.”
Jackson echoed the positive momentum following the race.
“We learned a lot this weekend and were able to move forward during the race,” said Jackson Tovo. “The TA2 field is incredibly competitive, so bringing home a top-ten finish and gaining more experience at a track like Road Atlanta is a big step for us. Huge thanks to Nitro Motorsports for giving us a strong car all weekend.”
The brothers wasted no time after the checkered flag, quickly departing Road Atlanta and heading back home to Mooresville, North Carolina, where Ethan competed in the KA100 Senior karting class to continue sharpening their racecraft. Working with Trans-Am mechanic Brian Jacobsen, Etahn finished sixth out of a field of 30 with a three-year-old chassis that was built that morning for additional seat time.
With strong momentum across multiple forms of motorsports, the Tovo brothers continue to showcase their versatility and determination as they build their racing careers across road racing, karting, and dirt competition. Their busy racing schedule continues this weekend as the twins shift disciplines once again, preparing to compete in a Late Model dirt race at Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, North Carolina.
